trans4num strengthens stakeholder engagement with key events in the UK and Hungary

The trans4num project continues to drive sustainable agricultural transformation through stakeholder engagement and collaborative research. Recent events in the United Kingdom and Hungary have highlighted the importance of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), soil health, and regenerative agriculture in tackling global agricultural challenges.

Soil Organic Carbon Workshop at Rothamsted Research

On February 12, 2025, Rothamsted Research (RRes) in Harpenden, UK, hosted a local stakeholder engagement event focused on soil organic carbon. With 25 advisors and five farmers in attendance, discussions centered on:

✔️ Measuring and managing soil carbon to improve agricultural sustainability

✔️ Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and regenerative agriculture in soil health

✔️ Insights from RRes experiments, bridging research with real-world applications

Participants valued the opportunity to engage with leading agricultural scientists, exchanging practical knowledge to enhance soil carbon management.

First 2025 Project Meeting at Ecopark, Hungary

Meanwhile, in Hungary, the first 2025 trans4num project meeting took place at Ecopark (Pisztrang Kör Egyesület) in Dunasziget. The event brought together researchers and stakeholders to plan the next steps in NBS implementation.

  • Dr. András Vér outlined 2025 project objectives for the NBS site.
  • Viktoria Vona PhD presented the latest 2024 NBS trial results.
  • Zoltán Fűzfa (PKE) showcased demonstration tools designed for educational outreach on NBS, reviewed past events and upcoming 2025 initiatives.
  • Pannon-Mag-Agrár Kft. shared insights on field trials and ongoing agricultural innovation.

These collaborative efforts demonstrate trans4num’s commitment to developing practical, science-based solutions for sustainable agriculture across Europe.
