A new project building on trans4num starts today

With only a few months left of trans4num, we are happy to see that the project’s legacy will continue through new initiatives and collaborations starting on April 1st.

A new national project in Denmark, PlantPerform, will support farmers and advisors in adapting to upcoming nitrogen regulation changes. With a budget of €2.2 million (DKK 16.3 million), the project contributes to Denmark’s target of reducing agricultural nitrogen emissions by 9,600 tonnes per year.

From 2027, regulation will shift from controlling nitrogen inputs to managing nitrogen losses at field level, increasing complexity for on-farm decision-making. To address this, PlantPerform will develop a digital tool enabling farmers and advisors to test different management scenarios, alongside training and advisory support.

PlantPerform builds on trans4num results, particularly in integrated nutrient management and data-driven decision-making, helping translate complex requirements into practical, farm-level solutions.

Running from 2026 to 2029, PlantPerform brings together Aarhus University, SEGES Innovation, the Innovation Centre for Organic Farming, and a wide network of advisory organisations and partners.

We wish all project partners a successful implementation and look forward to following their progress.
