China–EU Symposium on Sustainable Agricultural Development to Strengthen Transcontinental Cooperation on Nature-Based Solutions
The China–EU Symposium on Sustainable Agricultural Development will take place from 3–7 November 2025 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, bringing together leading experts and partners of the EU–China trans4num project to foster collaboration on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and sustainable nutrient management.
Co-hosted by the Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and trans4num European partners, the symposium will feature keynote presentations, scientific exchanges, poster sessions, and field visits to NBS demonstration sites in Henan.
Discussions will focus on soil health, nutrient circularity, carbon sequestration, and climate-smart farming, highlighting innovative practices that link sustainability with productivity.
European partners from Rothamsted Research (UK), Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Hohenheim (Germany), Szechenyi István University (Hungary), FiBL (Switzerland), and Wageningen University (Netherlands) will join Chinese experts to share research results and explore joint pathways for agricultural green transformation.
This symposium marks a major milestone in the EU–China partnership on sustainable agriculture, showcasing the practical achievements of trans4num and reinforcing long-term collaboration toward resilient, circular, and low-emission agri-food systems.
