Related NBS initiatives
In this section, we showcase various projects that explore Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) across diverse contexts. These projects provide valuable insights, methodologies, and outcomes that complement our efforts and contribute to the broader understanding and implementation of sustainable nutrient management and ecological practices.

The ECONUTRI project, funded by Horizon Europe, develops innovative nature-based solutions (NBS) to improve sustainable nutrient management in agriculture. The project targets reducing nitrate and phosphorus leaching, ammonia emissions, and greenhouse gases from crop and livestock systems. ECONUTRI involves 24 European and 6 Chinese partners working collaboratively across eight demonstration sites, implementing advanced tools such as decision-support systems and precision fertigation. Through extensive stakeholder engagement, ECONUTRI promotes sustainable agricultural practices, aiming to enhance environmental quality and climate resilience.

LivingSoiLL is a Horizon Europe project under the EU Soil Mission, aiming to restore soil health through sustainable management in permanent crops. It establishes 5 Living Labs across Portugal, France, Spain, Italy, and Poland, involving over 2,000 local actors. The project focuses on vineyards, olive groves, chestnuts, hazelnuts, and apple orchards, with 50 demo sites and 10 lighthouses. Key goals include reducing erosion, improving soil structure, boosting biodiversity, and enhancing water retention and resilience through co-created and tested digital solutions.
